Last weekend we headed up to Evergreen Lodge for the annual friends and family Halloween weekend. We were invited by friends who went last year and it turned out we knew several others from Lakeview preschool, including one of the lodge owners!
Everything was taken care of for us so we could spend our time biking
(who loves their Skuut bike? ME!!!),
swimming,
racking up mileage for the Crocker Elem Walk-a-thon,
playing prey to what must've been REALLY BIG Sierra spiders,
trying out our costumes at the Evergreen Halloween carnival,
taking hay rides through the woods,
and generally relaxing.
On our way home we took a hike out at nearby Hetch Hetchy
on a beautiful sunny day (we had to consciously think of our East Coast friends and family hunkering down for Hurricane Sandy)
where we saw a REAL bear and her cub fattening up on berries,
inspiring much growling, cave exploring
climbing,
and more (teddy bear) growling.
