This morning we took Elena 
to Alameda for a heapin' helpin' of small-town Americana
at the 4th of July parade.
They had politicians, dancing horses, 
fire trucks, mini-BART trains, 
FREE CANDY (!),
jeeps, flatbeds of human vegetables,
and a closed street to ride my bike.
Kelsey and I have our eyes on riding in next year's parade.
