This weekend we made our third trip to the geodesic dome for bookclub in the mountains. The trip was bound to be a little wild, because all of the families were going with just one parent but little did we imagine that the weekend we had chosen in mid-March would be a snowstorm of epic proportions.
If we had known, I think that Dominic, Lena and I
would probably have insisted our dads (from Colorado and Pennsylvania) come along and drive in the snow instead of our moms (from California and Georgia). Fortunately, what they lacked in skill, they made up in charm, and we did not actually have to spend the night in the cars, as it did seem at one moment like we might need to do. After we made it there, we made great use of the amenities of the house including ping pong,
jumping on the bed,
and ping pong while jumping on the bed
and most importantly, the hot tub,
even if we had to dig it out fresh every morning.
As Polly said when she got there "I love snow."

Wow - you pretty much summed it up, except you left out the part that BOTH moms bravely risked frost bite to put snow chains on our cars, only to find we were BOTH utter failures -- my chains came off somewhere along Highway 4 and yours came off only to wrap around your axles. Thank god for the kindness of strangers!
