In what is now a Van de Water and Reese tradition, we headed down to Ardenwood Historic Farm today for the Harvest Festival. We got our burlap bags and headed for the fields, where we spent hours in the hot sun, harvesting crops.
Which goes relatively slowly when you carry one cob at at time.
Some didn't turn out to be quite as pretty as the others
but there were some amazing colors of Indian corn!
It was quite a job to shuck our haul, and we then had to give half back to the farm, just like sharecroppers in the olden days. But if any of you out there are interested in popcorn on the cob - we now have a year's supply!
We finished the day at the pumpkin patch, seeing how we measure up,
trying out all the pumpkins
and zipping through the hay bale maze.
Even Daddy made it through!
It was awesome, dude.
